FLEXIBLE WORKING, HYBRID OR BACK TO THE OFFICE/STUDIO? WHAT DO YOU WANT?
Boss Lady
- Meet the team
There’s much debate in the news currently about how working life will – or should – be, now the Covid restrictions are lifting in many parts of the world.
Just recently we’ve seen reports that Google employees face the prospect of a pay cut if they choose to continue working from home. Facebook, meanwhile, is allowing staff to work from home, but individuals will have to inform them if they move to a new location – and salaries may be adjusted if they’re now living in a less expensive area.
On the other hand, Reddit has confirmed that it will allow staff to work remotely if they choose, with no caveats, claiming that this will help its diversity policy.
It’s a complex situation, for sure, and one that many a studio head or CEO will be wrestling with as we all navigate the ‘new normal’ post-Covid.
But what do individuals want? How have you found remote working? Have you returned to the office or studio already, maybe in a hybrid format? And if you plan a career move at any point in the future, are flexible working options now a key priority?
Amiqus is undertaking a major industry-wide survey of games professionals to take the pulse of what you want in terms of working conditions going forward. We urge all of you to take part – and you’ll also have the chance to win £150 of Amazon vouchers for your trouble! It will take you only around five minutes to complete – get involved here 👉 https://forms.gle/
